10 weeks!
10 weeks this week—we’re getting closer and closer to the end of the first trimester. I’ve regressed a little in terms of nausea and general feeling blah-ness, but I think it’s still less overall.
I definitely have a little belly, but I think it’s more fat and bloating due to my eating habits and nonexistent gym schedule these days. The baby is only about 1.5 inches, so I don’t think that accounts for my bigger belly quite yet!!
How far along? 10 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +4 lbs total
Maternity clothes? yep—nearly exclusively in terms of pants, with a few dresses and skirts that still fit.
Stretch marks? nope.
Sleep: always exhausted—loving my sleep these days!
Movement: none yet
Food cravings: nothing has sounded good the last few weeks….how can I be nauseous AND starving at the same time??
Gender: ……
What I am looking forward to: my second midwife appointment tomorrow!

9 Weeks
See that little pooch in front? Yeah—not a baby, just fat.
I think.
Anyway, here we are at 9 weeks—that pencil skirt is a maternity skirt and possibly my favorite new article of clothing. Soft and stretchy with plenty of belly room means it’s my new best friend.
Baby was the size of a green olive this week—about an inch or so long!
How far along? 9 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +4 lbs total
Maternity clothes? oh yes. I just recently figured out to use the Bella Band, which stretches over unzipped pre-pregnancy jeans, but it’s either those, my maternity jeans or pants and a select few skirts & dresses.
Stretch marks? nope.
Sleep: not bad—I can still sleep comfortably. I just have to pee all the time!
Movement: none yet
Food cravings: I tend to get fixated on one particular item that I must have at that moment. It changes daily, but has ranged from ice cream to chicken sandwiches to soup to pb&j to smoothies to trail mix to……you get the idea.
Gender: ……
What I am looking forward to: my next appt and the end of the first trimester and exhaustion and nausea!!

Cats Roar Past E. Tenn St with the Help of the Kitten
Y - Following the University of Kentucky Wildcatsopening season win over East Tennessee St late Friday night, videotape of the contest may reveal what some folks are calling the 'UK Kitten', the smallest basketball fan ever. Clad in a UK blue hat (pictured below in approximately the 10th row of Rupp Arena) and not much else, The Kitten attended Friday nights contest seemingly hovering in a belly full of goop and apple crisp donuts. The AP sports wire is reporting this as of yet unnamed embryo, is a die hard Cats fan that will be following Coach Cal & the Cats throw the 2010 season. First Ultrasound
Ta-da!!
Here are the pictures from our very first ultrasound at 8 weeks, 2 days. I know it’s hard to see, but there’s the baby inside that dark black circle. S/he’s about an inch long at this point, with tiny little arms and legs up in the air. Everything looked great and the whole thing took less than 10 minutes. Crazy!

8 Weeks
I’m still playing catch up with my weekly photos, here—this is from nearly three weeks ago, at 8 weeks!
Week 8 was “raspberry” week and the week we had our ultrasound!

Election Night
I took this picture of F. Scott & Zelda while we were watching the election returns last Tuesday night. As you can see, the Bear is quite alarmed at the results, while Bean is just disgruntled and pessimistic.

7 Weeks!
Obviously this post is a bit late (I’m back-dating it), but here’s my 7 week “bump.” Yes, let’s be clear—that’s not a bump, it’s just some belly fat I’ve added in the last few months that may or may not be baby-related.

We’ve Got Some News…
So these pictures are from the beginning of October when I first took the home pregnancy test and our different reactions.
This is actually the second test I took, so you’re not getting the true first reaction. To accurately capture that, I would have taken a picture of my toothbrush and toothpaste tossed in the sink where I started to brush my teeth while waiting for the test results before I saw it. Hee hee

Handsome Man
I realize that all of my pictures of Matt are super flattering, so I thought I’d post this one for some balance. He had just pulled into the driveway after biking home from the gym and this was his state. Please note the lovely sweat stain below the “Adopt a Dog” on his shirt. :)

Fall Comes to New England
I noticed that the leaves are starting to change around here. I hadn’t really been paying attention, but driving up this street the other day, I noticed the bright yellow and red everywhere! Yay fall!

St. Michael’s Parish Festival
We volunteer every year at the St. Michael’s parish International Festival where they celebrate the ethnic diversity of their parish with tons of different food, dances, and general merriment. Our students run the game for the kids and I wander and take photos. :)
These little girls were about to do a Mexican dance—aren’t they cute?

Ivy League Football?
Saturday night we also went to a college football game, albeit with a slightly different setting. Let’s just say: Jordan Hare Stadium’s got nothing on this Brown v. Harvard crowd.
Brown won with Harvard never leading and it was a nearly sell-out crowd! Woot!
