This afternoon, some friends and I went to Roger Williams Park, in a suburb of Providence, and picnicked and played Bananagrams (MADE IN RI! MADE IN RI!). There was huge festival complete with live music, vendors, bouncy castles, and lots of food taking place next to us for "Emancipation Day." Turns out, today is
Emancipation Day is the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the British Empire. Who knew? So, happy Emancipation Day, everyone!
