Friends, today was a special day.* Today I discovered that I do not in fact have a black thumb (dahlias, I'm looking at you). In fact, I grew a pepper!! See? This is my first actually edible produce from my container garden if you don't count all of the herbs and I'm super excited. They're sweet peppers so they'll be small anyway, but I'm going to give him some time before I pluck and devour.
Oh, did you say you wanted more pictures of the garden? Well, okay..
There's three types of basil...
And the zinnias are gorgeous--I love the green one!
The impatiens, geraniums and rosemary are still kicking as well, believe it or not! Goooo garden!
*That's actually a total lie. I found it this morning and took the photos and decided to replace these with the photos of Matt as The Dude that were going to be my last-minute offerings from yesterday. You're welcome.
I love the garden! I'm actually really jealous, I want fresh herb plants but I just never went and bought them. Congrats on the pepper! It took my christmas cactus 3 years to bloom if that makes you feel better...
ReplyDeleteVery Good! Stuff that you grow yourself always seems to taste better than store bought (not the flowers of course). My tomatoes don't seem to be enjoying our current weather however. They don't taste like they did last year. Funny, huh, how the quality of the growing season affects the taste of an organic product. Keep it up & Ashley you'll discover the enjoyment of flowers & vegetables one day even if it's in a pot on a patio.
